As some reviews mentioned, it did have a strong chemical smell initially, so I let it air out on the deck for a few hours. This rug is amazing. The texture of it is so soft. The only problem is that it may be two soft. I have slipped a couple of times. But I think if I wash it that will fix that problem. I like this rug in person even better than I did on the website. It's thin enough that my front door will go right over the top of it. It came delivered in plenty of plastic which was good since it rained that day. I have put it in front of my door so that when it does rain we won't slip on the ceramic tile flooring.
