Overall, this is a very nice table. I could not give it five stars because of the difficulty in putting the 12 screws for the hinges in. Although the instructions do not indicate a drill is needed to start the holes and then a drill is also needed to screw in the screws. Because the wood is not prepared for the screws, doing it by hand is not possible. It is easy to put together other than that. This dining set is a gentle softness.

We had a very difficult time getting the 2 table top halves to separate to reveal the leaf. It turns out, the manufacturer physically **drilled screws** into the bottom of the table closed and there was nothing in the instructions telling us this detail. These "remove" block pieces blend in with the rest of the wood on the bottom of the table. They did stamp "remove," on them but again, these blocks blend into the table and unless you know to look for them, they can easily be missed. The bottom also has some interior damage I'm assuming from transit but it's hidden so I guess not a big deal aesthetic wise, but for integrity, time will tell. Quite the nice table. I got the unfinished so I could stain the color sine I can never tell if the color will be right when ordering online plus I wanted a dark base and a light top. I was happy to see that the top does not have those zig zag joints that are often popular with rubber wood. The grain is nice and the pieces of wood have a good color match. The table is sturdy and well made. Look up the directions from this web site for the assembly of base to top. The table was delivered in two boxes, one for the tabletop and the other with the pedestal. The tabletop delivery was fine hardware and assembly instructions were included. The issue was that the pedestal was missing from the second box only the table feet arrived, no hardware, no assembly instructions. After contact with Wayfair, the pedestal was delivered still no hardware nor instructions even though that information was conveyed. This table is darling! We needed something for a small dining area, and this fits perfectly, even opened on both sides. Allow some time to put together. We purchased the Chezney 4-Person Solid Wood Dining Set and had a great experience from start to finish. We received several email updates regarding our order status, along with a delivery time estimate. The set was delivered just 9 days after placing the order. The delivery drivers called about 10 minutes prior to arrival and were kind, courteous, and very helpful. They even brought the boxes into our home. Everything arrived extremely well packaged with no visible signs of damage. Assembly was very straightforward. It took two of us about 30–40 minutes to assemble the table and four chairs, including cleanup. We found it easier to assemble the chairs with the seats placed on a counter, and using a socket wrench instead of the included tool made the process quicker. The table and chairs are beautiful and made of very sturdy hardwood. The butterfly leaf is especially convenient—it's easy to use and operates smoothly.
