The 3rd picture is how they are packaged in the box which was surprising as the box was smaller than I expected. The instructions are adequate. Since 3 came to the set, 2 were hung in the kitchen and the 3rd is in the foyer. The amount of light they provide, especially at night is perfect for the kitchen and even provides some light to an adjacent room. My husband had the missing pieces in the garage among his supply so we were able to go ahead and finish installing them - the missing pieces are up in the ceiling, so not visible, so that part doesn't matter, but wayfair should have charged me the "open box" price for one of the lamps, not the new unopened price..
