We bought this for our 6 year old and she loves it. My husband and I (well, mostly him) put it together ourselves and while it took quite a while (because there's like 8000 pieces to it), the instructions were surprisingly clear. Some of the wood was warped and didn't fit together very we, but with a few tweaks we got it to work. Make sure there's a strong person available on delivery day because the driver needed my husband's help to get it off the truck. No way I would have been able to move those boxes. It took three handy adults three days to put together. The wood parts were organized by section for the most part, which was nice. However, the instructions were not the best. For example, one page called for a part that was not in the specified box, and at the bottom of the page it said “hint look in this box for this part”…. We love scavenger hunts, but there is a time and a place. Also, there were not enough of certain screwsbolts, and too many of others. We had to go out and buy more.
