Bought this unit as a (very comparable) replacement for a Panasonic NN-T994SF that was purchased in January of 2005. Yes, after 21 yrs of constant use, that old unit finally gave out. Kudos to Panasonic on the quality and longevity of the unit that we replaced!! As to the new unit, we are very pleased. Well-built and cooks well. A big plus for us is that the unit is just under 24" wide (most other brands are slightly wider). Since we have a 24" wide alcove the oven sits in, perfect. I would tend to agree with the other reviewer who commented on the interior light being somewhat dim - maybe a 2nd light on the other side of the oven might have been nice. This switch is really nice and a must-have if you purchase the Panasonic WhisperWarm exhaust, heat, and light fixture. I purchased both of these for a client and she was so in love with both of them, she asked me to purchase another set for her other bathroom. I was trying to save some time and money and picked up a standard 3 switch at a big box store for the second bathroom, thinking there wouldn't really be a big difference. She totally called me on it and asked what was wrong with the second switch and fixture. It didn't have a dimmer on it as this one does--which is designed to go with the fixture. I ended up having the first switch replaced with this one. This product features a totally enclosed condenser motor and a large, double suction blower wheel to quietly move air. A small wheel turning very fast will create more noise than a large wheel turning more slowly for a given airflow. Bought this kit as a convenience. You can probably purchase the parts individually cheaper from other manufacturers if you want to spend the time and shipping costs. The intake fittings are too small to cover the openings left by my original bathroom fans. This required additional framing, drywall, mudding and painting as the grill did not hide the repair. A larger grill is available at extra cost. The items included are all good quality and installed easily once the initial prep was completed. Overall, happy with the quality, not the design or cost.. This switch works great. Having 3 kids the exhausted fan was never turned on when they showered, but this takes the guesswork out of it. The switch senses when the humidity is high and automatically turns on and then will turn off when it it decreases to an acceptable level (typically 20 minutes or so after a shower). The Panasonic WhisperLine fans are probably the best there is. Very quiet, easy to install. Wayfair had the lowest price. I used the regular ceiling mounts in two bathrooms and a closet. I used this inline fan, mounted in the attic, for exhausting the toaster and microwave ovens (they were mounted a little far from the range exhaust. Strongly recommend using timers.
