I was very disappointed in the benches I received. They were not black nor were they poly lumber. They were wood and brown. When I contacted the company, I was given options to either keep them or return them. I was not given an amount of what it would cost to return them but I figured it would be costly because they are pretty heavy. After a conversation with a customer service representative, I agreed to keep them with a 20% discount. Then came time to put them together and that was also a disappointment. Several of the wholes were not big enough for the screw covers so it took almost 4 hours to put one together-we did not have the time nor the patience to put the other one together. The instructions were poorly written and hard to follow. Unrelated to this purchase but also a disappointment was a lamp I received from this company a week earlier that had broken wires and needed to be replaced. These chairs are great however they sit pretty upright compared to other Adirondack chairs. This is fine if that is your comfort level but just be aware of that before you purchase. These are much easier to get out of as they do not sit low either like some do. I gave 4 stars because there were some smudge type marks that were hard to remove. However easy to put together.
