Avid griller and used to taking care of a grill. I love the Broil King grills and this is my second one. I ordered Cast Iron Grates for this one due to better searing qualities, but have been sadly disappointed, I season them about every 4-6 months and they are still rusting away. Owned my pellet grill for about three years now. Internals of the first rotisserie melted. Replaced with this rotisserie - it quit working after less then 20 uses. It will rotate with no shaft inserted, but can’t rotate once the shaft is inserted into it - this is with no meat on the shaft. Do not buy this product. Thick enough to hold some great heat--but not so thick that it's unwieldy. I sometimes drop it in place--as the Exact Fit suggests--and sometimes just lay it on top of my cast iron grates. It comes pre-seasoned, and I found the pre-seasoning acceptable. The key to long, reliable performance is the same for all cast iron. I clean mine while it is still warm, and I dry it on my gas range before taking it out to store inside my Regal. I've owned my Broil King Pellet for several years and have tried my friend's low-cost smokers and they simply don't compare. The quality difference in the Broil King is superior, I get a reliable cook each time and haven't had any issues. Other reviews mention auger jams but this can be avoided by not overfilling with pellets and removing your excess pellets after cooking - I have friends who run into auger jams on their smokers and its because they forget that the auger is already half loaded from their last cook.
