This table top fire pit is a great idea, but there are some things to consider. First and most importantly, I would not recommend having one of these around young children. The rocks are small, the flame is open on the sides, and it is easy to access the fuel— lit or unlit. There were no assembly instructions included. While this is easy to assemble, it might have been helpful to have pointed out that the fuel reservoir is silver and covered in a plastic film. Also, fill the reservoir after placing the rocks so that none fall into the fuel. And, fill it when you have it in its location, not before you carry it somewhere. I’d also plan to put it somewhere with limited airflow because light breezes or ceiling fans can cause the flame to flicker and lay over. I do love the idea of being able to change the rocks if a different color or type is preferred. These unslotted security barrel nuts are constructed of steel and come in a chrome plated finish. These fasteners are manufactured with #10-24 threads and have a reach of 1/2 inch, with a 1/4 inch outside diameter, and a 1/2 inch head diameter. i have to admit i had no idea what to expect. Truly i just thought these would be some cheap light weight metal brackets. they were delivered very quickly. I went to pick up the box off the patio... again, thinking these were probably some cheap light weight metal brackets, but the box was heavy! quite heavy. I brought them in and pulled them out of the box and was very surprised and pleased at the weight and quality of these brackets. We had spent a lot of money on a large under mount hand hammered copper metal sink and i was concerned about the weight of the sink being carried by just the cabinet. i found these online and took a shot at them. very stout piece of metal and nice construction.
