The wood is strong enough for indoor but I don’t think it would last long outside in the elements. I didn’t use the roofing material that came with it since I have it inside the house. I love this vacuum. It works great. The only thing is the cord will get stuck in the bottom of the vacuum if you’re not careful while using. Very helpful for carrying our 58 lbs. Labrador when she had a ruptured cervical disc at age 11 and couldn’t walk. The stretcher is very sturdily made with handles that are comfortable and easy to hold. The strap to hold your pet on worked well and gave us confidence that we weren’t going to hurt her. My husband and I could carry her (ages 69 and 75) out to the yard, to the car, into the vet. She doesn’t need it since her surgery but it’s very comforting to have it on hand, just in case. Sometimes it falls over when I tug it, or gets tangled in its cord--and its cord could be longer, and it has a tough time with the thick shag carpet in the bedroom, but, this vacuum has agility and willingly moves forward, quietly sucking up the stuff.
