So far I'm really enjoy the Chefspot. I've only had a chance to take it to work twice, but it's very nice to be able to just plug it in a half hour or so before I would like a hot lunch and be able to eat at my desk quickly and without a mess or a lot of fuss. I have not figured out what you're supposed to do with the handle (I just shove it down in the carrier but there's not a lot of room for it, and it would be nice to have a longer cord to plug it in (I have to put it on the floor in order to plug it in. Also, it seems better suited for soup or something that doesn't need to be cut with a knife and fork - there's not much room for maneuvering within the bowl and it only comes with a small spoon and fork (but those are super cute and really nice to have and come in their own little case). I have not tried plugging in the lunch box in the car and don't know that I will have much of a reason to in the future, but it's nice that it's an option. All in all, a really nice thing to have.. I am ecstatic that I ordered this container. It does not disappoint in terms of capacity, flexibility and quality. The fact that I am able to pack four separate food items for lunch or four of the same items for sharing is definitely a huge bonus. I used it for a trip about two hours away from home. I packed cold fruit and other cold food items. Even when we arrived at our destination, the food was still cold and eatable. The long strap is a convenience for carrying it around while walking instead of having to awkwardly hold it around the container. I plan to order several others for family and friends who I know will benefit from the features. I look forward to using it in the winter months to pack dinner leftovers for lunch. It’s a cost-saver for me in terms of not having to purchase lunch at restaurants. The photos provide an idea of the width and depth of the container. Our commercial soup container is made of high-class stainless steel, plastic, and PU foam, which is sturdy and durable. The large capacity and long temperature preservation time make it highly practical. Its good sealing performance and portable recessed handles make it easy to transport. Be aware that the title says 5 liters, but the true SOUP CONTAINER capacity is 3.8 liters. This container is very cute and the recessed handles make it very easy to carry when full. I tested the heat retention using PLAIN WATER...I boiled 3.8 liters of water to the 212 degree boiling point and poured the hot water into the container. I secured the lid. After 3 hrs, I opened the lid for the first time and the water temp dropped from 212 to 174 (an avg of 12 degrees per hour). (For me, 175 is the perfect water temp for tea and coffee.) For the next 5 hours, I checked the temp every hour and each time, the temp dropped by only 5 degrees. So, the water temp dropped an avg of 12 deg per hour in the 1st 3 hours, but only 5 deg per hour thereafter! Apparently, the reason the water cooled much faster in the early hours compared to the later hours is due to "Newton's Law of Cooling." Anyhow, during the course of the 8 hr test (where I only removed the lid to check the temp), the temp dropped from 212 to 148, so the container does a GREAT job of holding the heat. Here are my results for broccoli cheese soup. I filled the container to the near the top with boiling broccoli cheese soup (boiling point was 199 degrees). I didn't open the lid until 5 hours later and the creamy soup was at about 160 degrees, which was a perfect temperature for soup!. Danielle. Mon Jan 26 2026
