These are great. I initially got them for succulents but have tried them out with an Umbrella plant, Snake Plant, and now a Queen palm. I’m still trying to see what I like most about them but they would do good with any shallow plant or even as a drip container that’s nicer than most. It’s some sort of foam that hardens and it was quite a job to get the planter separated from the foam and out of the box. And now I have an enormous amount of non-recyclable material to dispose of. These are really high quality planters and very heavy and sturdy. I will say that the colors look a lot different than the picture... the picture makes them look blue on the tip fading to a pretty purple but they are more of a dirty looking greenbrown which was kind of disappointing. They also were REALLY dirty in the shipping box.. literally dirt all over them I wish the seller would have hosed them down before shipping. The pot planter is not your typical bucket. This tub is huge at 17.5 gallons of capacity. Take on big jobs such as mopping large areas or moving larger amounts of liquids or supplies around. The pot planter is made of thick polyethylene plastic that's both BPA-free and for contact with edibles. Not only does this mean it's strong & durable but incredibly safe for everyone from small children to pets. Because of its large carrying capacity, two large handles are molded into the top rim so you can easily grasp and lift or drag the bucket around. This bucket is simple but its uses are endless: Store supplies or cargo for a trip, use as a storage bucket around the house, keep toys & crafts organized, feed & water livestock or larger pets, use on cleaning and maintenance projects or for whatever job you need a giant storage tub. The walls of the storage bucket are also very smooth to prevent sticking which is a big plus when working with loose materials such as soil or when removing root vegetables when it's a planter.

While the high firing temperature and quality of their glazed and terra cotta containers result in a durable and frost-resistant product, they still recommend that they are stored in a frost-free covered area in winter. If left outside, water may accumulate in the container and freeze, causing the planter to crack and break. Planters that must be left outside should be covered to prevent water, snow, and ice from accumulating inside the planter.
