This arrived well-packed in the manufacturer's box and was new, arrived ahead of schedule. The 5.5 quart size was the size I was looking for things like chili, stews, soups, etc. I needed to buy new because I moved to a home with an induction cooktop. This is an expensive investment but after all the research (Reddit was the best source) I wanted guaranteed reliability and longevity. I measured my old large pot and this one correlated close. I personally think the largest size, the 8.9 would be too big for my daily use.
