We are used to cooking with stainless cookware and the only usable burner for cooking on lower heat is the simmer burner. The others are just too intense. The grates are really heavy duty. The power on the Fotile range hood is excellent. For most cooking, I stay on the first 2 out of 3 fan settings. For high smoke activities such as seasoning a wok or searing steak, the 3rd settings is more than enough to suck up all the fumes. The fan speeds are all pretty quiet. It works great! For the price, it’s a great value. The fan works perfectly, and as other reviews have stated, it’s not loud on one or two, but it does get loud at three and up. I do wish the controls were a little more intuitive but one thing I love is that the same controls are on both sides of the vent (one set front left, one set back right), so it doesn’t matter which way it’s installed, and you can access buttons from the left or right.
