Raised in Los Angeles, California, D’Alessandro was the youngest of three brothers. When art competition was a form of play for the brothers, it later grew into his obsession. D’Alessandro attended the Art Institute of California where he explored mixing mediums as well as digital. He also attended Illustration, Sculpting, and Fine Art workshops in Fullerton Ca. After spending long periods studying different techniques, D’Alessandro's art became increasingly influenced by artists from the early 1900s. During D’Alessandro’s studies, he painted many different themes. He painted with restless intensity, often painting from morning until night. D’Alessandro was able to indulge his earliest artistic preferences for people, nature, architecture, and landscapes in his illustration and personal pieces. He also painted family, friends, and gardens. He has done commissioned work for a variety of clients in music, publishing, and editorial. His work has been exhibited in numerous private and public collections.

As Ellen Ehk Åkesson was asked to create an art object in honor of Ulrica Hydman Vallien's artistry, the magnificent Ticka was born. The object became part of Kosta Boda's 2021 tribute collection to the late Hydman Vallien. Ticka, available in a limited edition of 100 pieces, is a vessel from Ellen’s own imagination based on the same shape as Ulrica’s “snake bowl”. “I wanted to make something of my own, but with a connection to Ulrica’s art. For the tribute collection, I was inspired by the directness of her approach and style. The vessel symbolizes a tree trunk. It’s covered with modeled polypore mushrooms, called ‘Ticka’ in Swedish – hence the name.” – Ellen Ehk Åkesson. Ticka is handmade in Kosta, Sweden.

I am so disappointed in the item I received. My painting doe not look remotely like the painting pictured online. Instead of the complex mixture of dark blues, light blues and grays that I was expecting, I got a cheap-looking version that is 50% dark blue, 50% champagne with random dabs of gold in the middle. Artist Wendy Kleine was born in Encino, California, and lived in Southern California until she was 7 years old and then moved with her family to Chicago, Illinois. While she had been influenced by her mother’s love of art as a small child, she was also inspired by her many trips to the Chicago art institute. In 1972 she and her family moved to the small mountain town of lake Arrowhead, California, where she attended the art program at Rim of the world high school and fell in love with the beauty of nature. For the past 6 years, she has been teaching acrylic and watercolor to children and adults. In 2015 Wendy began focusing on her own work using acrylic, watercolor, and mixed media. She divides her time between San Diego and lake Arrowhead where she is continually inspired by the beauty of nature.
