The 4-cup espresso and cappuccino machine uses a steam/boiler to quickly heat water until steam is produced. Don't just start at 4!! Cleaning is easy with the brush and I let mine air dry. I appreciate the filter that keeps out allot of the left over grinds and drops into the larger cup and the lower spout works great and deposits just the juice in the smaller measuring cup.
