Ordered this farmhouse sink in glossy blue. Absolutely love it! Color is even better than it appears online. More iridescent. Depending on angle, it appears anywhere from indigo to purple to royal blue to black. Quality is top notch. Am extremely impressed. Kitchen is not ready yet for the install but will update with photo when it is done. I wanted something different and unique. This fits the bill!! The first sink arrived with a corner broken off. Wayfair promptly sent a new one which was perfect. It has a smooth, pottery-like finish. Some things to know if you are going to install this yourself: You need a 32 1/4" wide by 21 1/4" deep hole in the countertop with a 3/8" radius (+/-) in the corners. There are 1 3/8" circular depressions in the underside of the sink lip for soap dispensers etc. The depressions are about 3/32" deep. You need a diamond hole saw to cut through the sink, you cannot knock out the center. I used a Milwaukee diamond max 1 3/8" hole saw and their retractable starter bit and arbor (49-56-7135) to cut the hole (total cost $60). The saw self-centers in the depression. Run the drill slowly, with light-moderate pressure, and spray water on the sink and saw blade. I put the sink upside down with scraps of wood to back the cut. I found it to be surprisingly easy to cut through the material which turns into what looks like chalk. The clips that hold the sink in place on the countertop are attached with small screws to raised bosses molded into the underside of the sink lip. There are small holes pre-drilled for the screws, but they need to be drilled out with a 9/64" drill bit. A regular drill bit worked fine. Other than that, the installation was straight forward.. My family ribs me endlessly over my precious sink! It was shipped in the Arc of the Covenant. We had to use an engine hoist outfitted with a support bar to move the piece into position. It came with brackets and parts to hang on the wall, but at 400 pounds, the wall would have had to have been designed with this in mind. Instead, I did a Frankenstein bit to a thrift store oak kitchen table. We built a box out from the wall for plumbing access. Still working on getting the correct pipes and equipment, but I will have my sink eventually! Note for those looking: PLAN! It's ridiculously heavy, but oh so pretty. So far so good. We are slowly replacing all of the stainless hardware in our kitchen which can get quite pricey. This sink checked all of our boxes and the price was nice. It looks a million times better than the stainless drainboard sink it replaced and we like the deep bowl. As for how ours is installed, I have an unfair advantage because my husband installs solid surfaces for a living. So he customized this drop-in sink and made it an undermount sink like he did with our previous drop-in drainboard sink. Time will only tell if this sink can withstand constant abuse from daily use and retain its clean white color. FYI, to those struggling with stains, 'Beekeepers Friend' cream cleanser is what my husband recommends to clean and remove stains from solid surfaces and it has always worked for me.. Jeni. An attractive sink at a good price. This is a fireclay sink, which means it is fired at a lower temperature than a porcelain sink, but at a higher temperature than a ceramic sink. Higher temps increase hardness and durability. This becomes apparent as this sink will stain if left soiled overnight, unlike a porcelain sink which you can rinse and wipe clean. It is not a big deal as it does come clean with some bleach cleaner and a sponge. I am happy overall. Note: I bought a sturdy stainless steel sink grid, not included, to protect the bottom from nicks and scratches (~$50), which I recommend. Can be used as a trivet or a cooling rack as well.. I love my farmhouse sink!! It’s has transformed my kitchen and it is so big and heavy duty. Perfect for big pots and pans. Really beautiful with the vintage oil rubbed bronze faucet that I also bought on Wayfair. The installation wasn’t easy though. I tried to have it installed through Wayfair and they use Angi. My appointment was cancelled twice and I finally got my nephew to install it. However I got my money back promptly that I had paid for having it installed.
