We love the look and its heat. Installation was easy. We do find we have a burned off propane smell, but we solved this by having an air purifier next to it, makes us feel its safer that way. The propane industry may tell us all its safe to breathe those off gases, but like now known re natural gas, its better to not have those, so I would always suggest a good gas removing air purifier in the room, just my opinion.. i put this in my living room last week and it make the space feel way more warm and nice, not just in heat but in mood too. the fire colors are fun to change, and the little lights on the shelf look better at night than i expected, honestly. i use the remote when i feel lazy on sofa, which is most days anyway. the heat is decent for my apartment area, not super strong like real fire of course, but enough for chilly evening when i watch tv and drink cafe con leche. i also like the flame without heat, so it still looks cozy even when weather is not cold. shelves are handy for books and little decor, mine has one candle and family photo now. assembly took me a bit, maybe close to 2 hours, and instructions was ok but not perfect. still, once done, it looks comfertable and homey..
