The good and the bad: The GOOD - 75 gallons, is sturdy, is attractive, basic design is excellent, excellent followup customer service. The BAD - product was shipped in a plastic bag allowing the spigot to be half-way torn away, spigot is lightweight. My solution: rather than exchange it for another with no guarantee it wouldn't be damaged during shipment I replaced the spigot and threaded section with a more substantial bulkhead union and a more robust spigot. The rain barrel looks as nice as the pictures. The mesh to keep the bugs out does not fits snuggly snuggly and I will need to add aluminum screen. There are two round cut outs near the top at the back of the rain barrel and I assume that’s for venting air as the barrel fills as well as when water is dispensed. Or I suppose it could be for overflow There was no diagram of the rain barrel explaining all the nuances. These whiskey barrel planters are great. Our family has had three more just like them for 16 years. One is used as a small water feature with a bamboo fountain and the other two as traditional planters. Because of the size and material the soil does not dry out too quickly. For these two new ones, I've converted them into self-watering planters using sturdy 22 inch saucers and 1/2 inch solid-braid nylon rope for wicking the water up into the soil.
