This LED vanity mirror exceeded my expectations. The size is fantastic—it’s large enough to feel like a true vanity setup, which makes getting ready so much easier and more enjoyable. We LOVE this thing! Best upgrade ever. We purchased a sufficiently rated countdown timer switch with intervals that seemed appropriate for a bathroom heater (Leviton DT102 15-30-1h-2h) and have been enjoying this heated mirror so much. A brief ON will defog the mirror, while 15 minutes ON (switching on a bit before getting into the shower) is long enough for it to heat up fully and make a huge difference when stepping OUT of the shower. 30mins is great for getting ready on a very cold morning. The mirror optics seem very clear and high quality. We did not do the installation ourselves, as it was put in during a whole house rewire the electricians opted to put in a recessed outlet box behind the mirror and just plug it in there, rather than hard wiring it. This will preserve flexibility going forward. Because it was going in a very particular place, and we have plaster rather than drywall, they opted to install cross pieces of plywood secured to the wall, and mounted the mirror to the wood strips. It’s very secure-feeling. My one negative point is the thing gets so warm that it’s not comfortable to lean my face close (bad eyesight) for putting on make-up. This is something that might require finessing your timing if it was your only mirror, or setting up a small well-lit mirror in another location. Absolutely gorgeous! I use it as entrance walkin mirror. It’s a huge piece of mirror that’s true to the reflections. This is a very heavy mirror, made to last for its outstanding craftsmanship. The light brightness is adjustable, three dim setting. You got warm light and day night. I personally prefer warm light setting. Again, it is easier to adjust the brightness with the touching button in front of the mirror. The button is very sensitive to touch, so you just need lightly press the button then you see the magic happen. I prefer to leave the light on, to create a warm atmosphere.
