We installed the PetSafe invisible fence system 2 years ago. The directions were easy to follow and It was easy to install. We trained our cat on this invisible fence and we haven't had him leave the premises since. With this system he gets to run around and play in a large area (about an acre), but stays within the boundaries we set for him. When we got our puppy, we purchased an additional collar and we trained him on it as well. He also stays withing the set perimeter. I prefer this to a Pet Door because of the Remote option. She did not like pushing through the pet door that I first installed, and this was a great solution at a reasonable price. I also bought a Pressure Sensitive Mat that Chimes when she is inside and approaches the door so that I know when she wants to go out. Looks well made and sturdy. Works great! My cat absolutely loves it and took to it in a day. We both appreciate that she doesn’t need my help any more getting out, as raising the window was a hassle. The ability to lock it so she can only come in makes it easy to set a time when we don’t want her to go back out while still letting her come in of her own volition. I love how open it is. I kind of wish this one came with the step. Im not sure if the cats would use it, though. I already have one, and it has the front opening. My cats are both good size. This ones a little bit easier. I think for cats to go in and out of. Im not sure how long the bottom piece will last as it seems to be more material than hard plastic. I have had this now for about a month and I love it. I plan on getting another one and replacing the other one as they use this one most often. The other is the typical small opening and the waste draw is small and always needs to be adjusted as nothing falls forward and I can't find the right size bags, no company to order supplies from..
