This bed is OK - good but not great. The cover is made from a nice soft comfortable fabric and seems well-made, with good even stitching. It has a zipper so it can go in the washer too. There's no non-skid backing, and it's so lightweight you can expect it to slide around, but that means you can flip it over and have a new "top" if normal wear & tear starts to show. The padding is the same poly-fill that you find in medium priced human bed pillows. This filling will inevitably flatten and "bunch" over time, and I don't recommend it for older dogs or those with arthritis. Or, heavy dogs who will flatten it quickly. It's made with baffles running within the interior of the padding to combat "bunching", but, because they're not offset, they create breaks in the pad. There is access to the padding via a zipper, allowing you to go in and "fluff" occasionally, so you do have some control. I waited a little bit to write this review because I was really frustrated after unpacking the box. There are no instructions on how to assemble as a crate, it only included instructions on use as a playpen. When you go to the Hiddin website there are videos of the crate assembly that show it being super simple, which is generally true, but out of the box, all of the pieces are still covered in the paper used to cut the acrylic. It does not come off in one sheet, so it took a significant amount of time and I ended up with several cuts on my knuckles from the sharp edges of the acrylic. I was really disappointed in the amount of time and the amount of mess that was required and unboxing the crate. I expected it to be a lot smoother given the premium price of this product. The unboxing aside, the crate is nice easy to take apart and clean. And also seems sturdy as our high energy, muscular dog tried to test whether or not she could escape and was not successful.
