I purchased this for my mobility challenged ( tripaw ) cats. The spacing will allow them to safely climb without me worrying about falls as much. Yes it's expensive BUT .. the quality of the wood is exceptional. I am a little concerned the carpeting is very thin and it may become an issue with shredding- hopefully not! Super cute! My cats love to chase lizards in the window and this works perfectly. I have four cats and they all love "killing" the dangly puff ball. The inside has the same faux fur as the outside. This is a very nice multi-level cat tree. However, I gave it 4 stars because I wish it were more stable without having to be connected to the wall. My cat will use it if I put him on it but he won’t on his own because I supposed he thinks it may fall. I have not attached it because I like the flexibility of moving it around. The directions were difficult to follow. Yes you can look at the pictures and figure it out, and I did. I had to hit them with a hammer to get them in and then screw in with Allen wrench. However, once assembles, the product is study, pillows are soft and Velcro is there to keep them in place.
