As you can see on the pic the bottom legs are made of hard plastic and you just have to screw them in. It is overall very well built. My cat loves it! I had actually gotten it for my dog. As soon as I put it out he tried to lay down, did a few turns and got off. He didn’t like it. The little cushion is actually very, very firm. That is the only reason I deducted one star.
