The wood is strong enough for indoor but I don’t think it would last long outside in the elements. I didn’t use the roofing material that came with it since I have it inside the house. Where are all my poultry people at If you are anything like me youve got a house full of kids and a backyard full of chickens and ducks. The problem is is that we also have dogs. One dog doesnt care about the chickens but lets just say the other one does. Enter this kennel. It is super sturdy and very heavy duty. Excellent duck coop. Easy to set up with my grand childrens assistance. I added more layers of poultry wire and hardware cloth to the sides and top make break-ins more difficult. Also hardware cloth used as ground floor and apron covered with sod and then pine shavings. Placed the heavy duty XL anti-diggers around the perimeter. We have not had any intrusions in this set-up.. I was not sure whether it would work for my cats or not so it was good enough size and price for me to give it a try. I needed one with open bottom because my cats eat our grass. For that reason, I searched and searched until I found this one. the bottom slats are movable with this one. It works for us. It also looks pretty cute and leaving it on our front yard is not an eye sore. It is not hard to put together but you need to pay attention to put the right pieces in right places. It took me a few hours. It is light weight so it can be easily moved around by myself. My cats like to be in the cage for an hour or two.
