I bought this bed as a Christmas present for my mums senior kitty who is always cold, we’ve noticed her huddling up to lamps and Christmas lights and anything that gives off the tiniest bit of heat so a heated bed seemed like a great idea and it was worth every penny! We have never seen such a blissed out cat (her sister uses it too, so TWO blissed out kitties!) She knew it was for her and hasn’t left it since we set it up, except to eat and crawls right back into it. It’s obvious she LOVES it and we couldn’t be happier, I swear, she’s even smiling! The quality is amazing and it’s WAY bigger than I expected but it’s perfect, her and her sister fit in it together or she loved being wrapped up with a blanket in there. I’m so tempted to buy another one for my cat now, I am extremely happy with it! We haven’t used the cooling setting much yet, the fan noise does make them give it a funny look the minute or two we’ve turned it on trying to get it to the heat setting but it’s quiet enough I’m sure they’ll get used to it and love it in the summer. We live in Az and I didn’t know a cooked bed was even a thing so I am totally stoked to try it when the time comes, I’m sure they’ll love it just as much as they do when it’s heated. The boxes arrived a bit beat up as usual, but the pieces inside were safe and well-protected. It was definitely a bit time-consuming to assemble, especially with the sliding doors, but it was totally worth it in the end. I really like it because there are times when I want my Frenchie to stay calm and in one spot, especially while I’m cleaning or passing the vacuum. This piece is much sturdier and heavier than I expected, which was a pleasant surprise once it was fully assembled. The overall quality feels solid and stable, and it definitely does not come across as flimsy or cheaply made. That said, the assembly process was far more difficult than it should have been. The instructions were not very clear, and none of the parts were labeled, which made the setup frustrating and time consuming. It ended up taking close to three hours to put together because of all the guesswork involved. One corner on the top section also did not line up perfectly, so that particular screw could not be tightened completely. Thankfully, it still seems stable overall, but the alignment issue was disappointing considering the amount of effort required to assemble it. Another thing buyers should know is that this item is extremely large once completed. I would strongly recommend assembling it inside the room where it will be used, because moving it afterward may be difficult.
