It’s safe to say the level of detail in the instruction manual is one of the best we have ever seen! And the organization of the parts was *chef’s kiss*. We put it together in just over 3 hours while also wrangling our young hyenas - I mean kids. We have built dressers and desks and tables and wayyy too many Hot Wheels tracks. They all prepared us for this experience. And this was far easier than we thought it would be. My husband was able to be the only one up on the ladder while I took the role of assistant and hyena wrangling. We are very happy with our Backyard Discovery Beaumont 14x12 pergola! The only negative would be the time it took to arrive, which was about six weeks. Otherwise, it is very well made and looks beautiful. You need at least three people to put together. Great value for the price. I installed it on my Sorara Mirador Pergola, and it worked well. I’d need is raising the underside height from 89” to 94”. Some of the louvers arrived with minor factory paint scratches. I reached out to Mirador for touch-up paint, but they don’t offer any. The shipment packaging is extremely well done and even though there was damage to the boxes, the product was sufficiently protected had no damage due to shipping. The 12x20 pergola I ordered is close to 1000 pounds shipping in 7 boxes so the heaviest single box is about 150 lbs so two people are needed to move it around. The instructions recommended 4 people for the install. I had my brother to help but due to the weight I wanted 6 people (one at each post) to move the assembled product to minimize damage to the frame. High quality parts all around but because it’s all aluminum that is great for lower weight but it is still 1/2 ton of weight that needs to be moved around during an installation. Turned out nice. Had this professionally installed and mounted the post in concrete blocks to give more stability. The metal pieces itself is lightweight aluminum but when connected together it’s sturdy. Only gripe are the shade connector poles. Their means of connecting could be improved because they slide off & disconnect from one another every now & then but so far holds up well with rain when shade is pulled back.
