These were not hard to install, I watched a video. I really recommend a video, it makes the directions make sense. Getting it level is the hard part. I am very happy with these Roman shades. I purchased a size that matches the width and length of the window frame because I think this looks best, however, if you would like full blackout, it would be best to purchase a size slightly bigger than your window or window frame. The fabric is thick and neutral and I’ve noticed that within a few weeks after installation, the wrinkles have disappeared. I really like these shades but the reason I took off a star is that the shade isn’t very smooth if you want to use the top down option. It seems really sturdy but awkward to use this way.. Janel. I have not used these patterns yet, but they are wonderful and easy to follow instructions.
