Kit works to dress up the installation, upgrading the kitchen. A bit pricey for what it contains, but not a lot of options if you want to do a "built-in" look. Kudos to Panasonic on the quality and longevity of the unit that we replaced!! As to the new unit, we are very pleased. Well-built and cooks well. A big plus for us is that the unit is just under 24" wide (most other brands are slightly wider). Since we have a 24" wide alcove the oven sits in, perfect. I would tend to agree with the other reviewer who commented on the interior light being somewhat dim - maybe a 2nd light on the other side of the oven might have been nice.
