I was looking for a modern-style, small diameter fan and this fit the bill perfectly. I put it together myself with little to no DIY ability and had an electrician install. They were done in about five minutes and I really like how you can change the light from cooler to warmer as well as dim the brightness. Just was installed today by my home care specialist, it took him 30 minutes to install it I already had a light fixture in the ceiling space . its quiet fast cooling , no noise at all ! remote control offers variety 3 or more of light settings. Yes the light can be turned off with fan still spinning cooling room ! I got 40 inch size blades because my ceiling has a bit of an angular shape . So it fits well , n looks great . The best feature in my opinion, is the ability to change the fan direction via the remote control! No more climbing a ladder to locate a hidden switch twice a year to reverse the fan! The 6-speed fan setting is awesome also; it can go from slow to blazing fast in seconds! You can change the light color and brightness and set timers to shut the fan off in 1, 4 or 8 hours.
