It was easy to add this fan to a location where a porch light was no longer needed. I purchased a 3 way switch and connected inside so that we can change the speed with a wall switch. It is very comparable in sound and pressure to the same desk top fan that I use in my bedroom. My only “issue” if you can call it that, is I wish I was to not use the extender to attach it to the ceilings and just the part the carabiner is attached to, the room we used it in has shorter ceilings so tall people might have an issue..
