The hardest working accent in the heart of your home, kitchen islands tuck away serve ware, assist with food prep, and offer a convenient spot to set out hors d’oeuvres. Take this one for example: Crafted from solid and engineered wood, it strikes a clean-lined silhouette and boasts a neutral coloring for a look that complements nearly any color palette. Two drawers and a cabinet help keep kitchenware essentials corralled, while a butcher block tabletop provides a place to prepare meals for the week.

This is perfect in terms of looks from a distance, though not the highest quality. I’ve had to touch up the color on a few places and it’s particle board, so not great. If you can afford a more expensive one, I would recommend spending more. But the higher quality ones didn’t deliver to my address, so I used the DIY method and assembled this with not too much difficulty. Best parts are the cupboards and drawers that open from both sides, and the real wood surface. Easy to assemble and overall satisfied with the island.
