I finally broke down and invested in a better vacuum. This thing is amazing! Mostly hard flooring and its highest setting picks up everything- doesn’t blow it around. Lower settings handle even my flat washable rugs and don’t suck them up. The real test? I accidentally sucked up a metal door stopper that had broken and I immediately stopped the machine and took it apart to find the piece. Found it…in the bag. Gerber isnt as well-known a brand as some others, but when I was shopping for fixtures for a full bathroom, it was carried by a local, highly-respected plumbing supply store, and I wound up choosing them for their design. The Gaspee Affair was one of the first violent acts of rebellion against British authority and helped galvanize colonial resistance. Its historical significance lies in how it foreshadowed the coordinated revolutionary action to come. The Crown’s failed attempt to punish the raiders—thanks to a wall of silence among colonists—only fueled resentment and led to the formation of the Committees of Correspondence, a key step toward uniting the colonies in the fight for independence.
