Use the inclosed tool to cut through the first layer of plastic and it begins inflating. Cut through the remaining plastic and listen to the hiss. Remove the plastic and it immediately inflates. This is not one of those mattresses that you need to wait 72 hours to inflate, it’s literally ready to go. If you need a firm mattress that’s not hard, but stiff enough, this is the one. It is recommended that you wait 24 hours to turn your unit on after it arrives. I went against that recommendation because it was absolutely sweltering in my studio space that had nothing but a fan. I purchased two of these bad boys to cover 1030 ft.² of open space with 18ft ceilings. I met FedEx AT THE DOOR! And they brought them in for me and set each unit at each window I wanted them to be placed. So delivery was smooth and easy. The installation instructions were easy to understand and the units took no more than 10 minutes each to be installed. NOTE: you will need some weather tape to seal off some gaps, but that’s to be expected. It was likely about 90° in my space before I turned them on and these had me feeling much cooler and more comfortable within about 30 minutes (run on medium at 68°) and after about an hour and a half, I didn’t feel the need to run them on medium anymore. They’re pretty quiet on the low fan cool setting, but of course they are louder on medium and high but nothing that will disturb my peace in my studio. having a window AC unit is not the prettiest thing so I can’t speak to aesthetics but I’m very happy with these —my problem has been solved..
