Your average cheap mattress, definitely much less supportive and not as firm as your typical firm mattress, but as to be expected for the price. Doesn’t fluff up evenly or as nicely as you’d think if you’ve ever bought a quality bagged mattress you know what I mean. Fabric is super loose and not fitted to the mattress and the mattress does get that dipping effect when two people lay on it at the same time. Not the best, but not the worst either. While I don’t think this would be a great mattress for daily use, this was a good mattress for the trundle portion of my kid’s bed. It is slim (in a month, it only expanded to about 5.5”), and it’s quite firm as it obviously doesn’t have room for all the support/comfort layers that a regular width mattress can have. But it fits very well in a trundle bed (even with bedding), is more comfortable than I expected it to be, and is more than fine for occasional use. WOW!!!! This Box Spring is PERFECT! Everything is metal, not one piece of plastic or even wood anywhere. My cousin, who lives with me and is in his early 80’s, was having a really hard time getting out of his brand new bed queen size bed that has a 10” all foam mattress and 10” box spring made of the typical wood with covering. Also, the mattress was sliding bit on the box spring we got. I got this metal low profile 5” box spring and it made all the difference in the world. It comes with a really nice cover as well. And everything stays in place. Very easy to assemble as well and comes very compact. The box it came in was the width of a queen bed, but about 8” in height. I bought two of these for a pop-up trundle bed for guest use since it claimed to join into a king size bed. That is a different story. These mattress came vacuum-sealed and expanded to almost full size by the time I got the plastic off. The topper is nice material and can be zipped off for easy cleaning. I gave the mattresses about two days to fully expand and was surprised at how firm they are. Most "firm" mattresses are not very firm; however, I weigh just under 200lbs and I sunk in about a half-inch. It is a soft kind of firm, not a hard, cheap couch kind of firm. My wife laid on the top one and she was equally, pleasantly surprised. That says a lot, coming from her, as she has a bad hip and is very particular when it comes to mattresses. The mattress does appear to be more comfortable than the one that was being used by our toddler. We had one that used springs and was completely covered with plastic which I did not love. This mattress does not have inner springs, it is made of sponge, the dual-sided makes it suitable for infants and for toddlers by simply flipping the mattress from one side to the other. I do like that this mattress has a fabric cover which makes it less noisy that the one we had, but I’m afraid it will have to be washed so many times with a toddler that has learned how to take his PJs off including his diaper. The mattress cover does have a large zipper for removing which should make it simple enough for washing. There’s a label to indicate the side to be used for toddler vs infant but I’m still not sure which side is which. I took a best guess and seems to be working just fine. Another thing that is not great is that there is no cover to the mattress itself. Once the outer cover is removed there’s nothing over the sponge mattress, you’re left with the bare sponge; not a big deal, I was just caught off guard as I was expecting something over the sponge mattress and then the cover over that. Overall, it seems to be good crib mattress, and I hope it is more comfortable for my toddler. He does seem to sleep a bit better than before, but he can’t let us know yet.. Claudia. Hartland, WI. Oops! I made a mistake! I ordered the wrong size crib mattress. I have a crib that collapses to be put to the side when not in use and it has a smaller size mattress than an actual crib mattress.
