I have never had a batch disposal before. I have always had the traditional ones that require a switch to turn on. The only real issue (and its not much of one) is with how our sink is in the kitchen island there isn't a good spot to set the plunger when not in use other than in the sink itself. It is powerful and I am really happy how well it does its job. There is no flap that covers the opening to the drain like on traditional disposals. I thought this would be an issue having it open and silverware falling in. With our drain off to the right it really has not been a problem. Although I did have a fork fall into it the fact that the disposals "neck" between the sink and the bottom is long so the fork never fully fell into the disposal it just stood straight up. Also not having that flap covering the disposal makes it much easier to see at a glance if anything has made its way in that should be there. It is noisy but not bad, just as I expected as from traditional. I like the safety of it not turning on unless the plunger is in. We have young kiddos. Just makes me feel better. This thing is extremely deceptive... what I mean is. It's size does not match its weight. The thing is seriously light. Which lends itself to quality issues. The BT option works but will cycle on a loop of connecting if you leave the BT connection screen open. At least that was my experience. Now, the sound is low end PA (high treble) quality sound. The bass is minimal but there. The pre selected equalizer settings are basically useless. The thing is loud, and it is clear all the way into the upper end of the volume. Now I don't know if it is 3k watts of power as advertised. On the box RMS is 10watts. But this world seems confidant with fuzzy math's. I afterall 3000 is way bigger than 10. For the money. Great tub but a couple of things I did not expect. First thing was I underestimated the weight of the tub. It's a lot heavier than it looks. If it needs to go up have some heavy equipment to assist you and the second thing was the amount of electricity it used in the winter. my electric bill went up $80-$100 a month.
