I bought this because it was small and made of metal, not plastic. I discovered that the base is actually plastic, but is covered by the 'crumb tray'. Well....I have had Nesco 18 qt roaster for 20 yrs...I needed to replace it. I really like the semi-oval design of this new one..and the lid is domed higher than my old ene. This is a fantastic slicer for the money! I compared the different features between 4 or 5 slicers here on Wayfair all in the same price range, and this one was the clear winner. It had the largest blade diameter which is what I was looking for, Ive always wanted to buy deli meat in bulk and then slice it myself, Roast Beef is 13.99 a pound at my local store.. I bought a whole roast beef for 6 dollars a pound, at a restaurant supply store, sliced it myself and got the thickness I wanted. The range of thickness is such a bonus, I love that it has a dial, Im shaving my roast beef but Im slicing my Turkey breast thicker for hot Turkey sandwiches! This slicer has cut through every single cut of meat that I have tried like it was butter! I work this slicer hard and it does not feel like it is struggling at all, the motor is fantastic. I was a little concerned about the amount of cleanup but this thing cleaned up in under 2 minutes. It arrived undamaged it took about 3 minutes to assemble, and the shipping was fast and free.. Nice Serving Station!! I’m excited to try out my new serving station. This will be so nice to have for all the family dinners when you have things that you need to keep hot or warm until serving time. They seem like they will hold quite a bit.-They also come with lids.
