After a full month of use all is well so far. We tend to be fairly gentle with our sink and pans (stainless steel) in it while washing. We don’t leave food items sitting in the sink for long periods of time, and have not had any issues with it discoloring/staining. What a gorgeous sink. It’s just as the pictures if not better. We haven’t installed it yet but I’m sure it will be great. The chiseled front looks good, it has a grey color in it since the front is not treated. If you wanted the front to be black you just need to seal the front with a wet sealer. I have never had a batch disposal before. I have always had the traditional ones that require a switch to turn on. The only real issue (and its not much of one) is with how our sink is in the kitchen island there isn't a good spot to set the plunger when not in use other than in the sink itself. It is powerful and I am really happy how well it does its job. There is no flap that covers the opening to the drain like on traditional disposals. I thought this would be an issue having it open and silverware falling in. With our drain off to the right it really has not been a problem. Although I did have a fork fall into it the fact that the disposals "neck" between the sink and the bottom is long so the fork never fully fell into the disposal it just stood straight up. Also not having that flap covering the disposal makes it much easier to see at a glance if anything has made its way in that should be there. It is noisy but not bad, just as I expected as from traditional. I like the safety of it not turning on unless the plunger is in. We have young kiddos. Just makes me feel better.
