The "Dove" color is in between tan and gray. I would call it taupe. I have not seen another rug like this. It seems to be made very well and I had no issues with the fringe. Normally I don't like a fringed rug (OCD) but the fringes are sewn onto a kind of wire? so they don't flop around and they don't look like they will fray. If you love jute or sisal look but don't want the smell or the shedding, it's a great alternative. My only knock is that it's very thin, but it's made for outdoors so it would be perfect for a dining room! It's in my guest bath now but I will be moving it to my kitchen. Because it's so flat, it won't be a tripping hazard and I don't think I'll have to worry about stains. I will be purchasing more in other sizes and that says a lot because I'm usually very picky about my rugs. For once I'm happily surprised, not disappointed! I needed something thin that would still allow my office chair to roll over it freely, and this fir the bill. I like the nice subtle design. It really balances out the darkness of my wood paneled room with the more contemporary light colored and metal furniture. It really ties the room together. It also cleans up easily - no issues with any of my vacuums. Though it is somewhat thin, it's still heavy enough to stay put when vacuuming. I deducted one star because I noticed after about a year or so, the rug started losing its shape ever so slightly in the area where my chair rolls around. Like it was bubbling/warping a bit. I don't just like it, but LOVE it! The rug feels so good under foot, and brightens the room considerably. Our house is what we call "Fifty Shades of Tan," and this rug has enough of a tan hint that it's a perfect compliment to our floors.
