We needed a living room rug that would blend in with our floral chairs and accent the room nicely. We like rugs with thicker piles. This rug worked perfectly. The colors are muted enough to not fight with our chairs. It is a bit more yellowish than the picture showed but it works for us. The carpet layer smooth from the beginning. Very nice rug! I bought the 9x13. Came folded but lay 95 flat immediately. I did use carpet tape to stick down one corner. Some mild off-gassing that waned after a few days. This is not a mat with a printed design- it has actual pile. Very soft, does shed some but that was expected. Colors are true to the pictures - cream base with beige, gray, rustbrown, burgundy, olive, blue, and black. I wanted something that would work with a variety of colors and this fits the bill.
