Great kit! Precise cuts, quality hardware and clear, well thought out instructions. The stain appeared to be somewhat thin so I stained every piece prior to assembly, 3 coats. Used Sherwin Williams exterior wood stain. Built on 4" thick concrete that we also stained. Drilled out the supplied post mounting brackets to 1/2" I.D. and used Tapcon 1/2" x 4" masonry anchors, 4 per post to secure structure to slab. We are very satisfied with the finished product.. The lighthouse birdhouse is a spot-on replica of the famous located at the easternmost point of Long Island, New York. The construction of the lighthouse was authorized by none other than President George Washington and bears the distinction of being the first public works project of the United States. This is an attractive product designed to be sparrow resistant. Constructed from 0.75" western red cedar. Constructed to industry specifications. Drainage and ventilation openings provide for a comfortable living environment. The design of this product works great for bluebirds, helping to deter sparrows from the area. Research has found that bluebirds will readily use a slot entry, while sparrows prefer a round hole. The 4" long and 1.25" high entrance does not bother the bluebirds at all.

Absolutely adorable bird house. We call it "The White House." We mounted it to a tree just outside of our sunroom, great room and dining room side of the house. And we also hung a bird feeder below it, so excited to see what bird type takes occupancy in their new birdie white house! Tip: Get the bird seed called "Squirrel Away" from Chewy (see pic); otherwise, the squirrels will eat all of the bird seed within a day or two. Love this bird house!!! Detail and quality is amazing!
