This ten-room, fully functional birdhouse is inspired by the main pavilion of the iconic Del Coronado Hotel. A San Diego landmark, the'' Del'' has welcomed presidents, royalty, and Hollywood celebrities for over 100 years. Home Bazaar's dramatic Victorian design with its signature red roof and peek-a-boo dormers is topped off with a cupola proudly flying an American flag. This house comes equipped with a mounting base with a sleeve for setting on top of a standard 4 x 4 base. In order to attract purple martins, the recommended location of this house should be a combination of open fields and water. The house should be 12 to 14 feet high. Absolutely adorable bird house. We call it "The White House." We mounted it to a tree just outside of our sunroom, great room and dining room side of the house. And we also hung a bird feeder below it, so excited to see what bird type takes occupancy in their new birdie white house! Tip: Get the bird seed called "Squirrel Away" from Chewy (see pic); otherwise, the squirrels will eat all of the bird seed within a day or two. Love this bird house!!! Detail and quality is amazing! Highly recommended, and arrived in perfect shape. My review is between and 3/4 star. This is a beautiful birdhouse, well made, quality materials. The issue is no easy way to clean this out at the end of the season.
