My rug arrived folded, which was a benefit because we had to carry it up to the second floor of our condo, where the staircase was narrow. The color of the rug pulls more salmon than rust, but since we were using it on a black tile floor with dark green furniture, it worked well for our space. If you were using this on a warm hardwood floor, it would definitely appear more salmon than rust. The rug does shed, but no more than any other rug I’ve purchased of the same material.. Amy. This is a very soft area rug! I got a pad for underneath it but you probably wouldn’t need one. The cats LOVE it.
