The unit is whisper quiet depending on the setting. Even on high, it’s much more quiet than the traditional non inverter units. It’s worth the bump in price. It’s easy to use—exactly as it should be. It’s noticeably quieter than the previous brand—again, as it should be. And most importantly, it performs flawlessly. The dampness in the air disappeared quickly, and now it runs only when needed. We’re collecting a full tank every three days instead of two tanks a day in the beginning to get the air comfortable. I may eventually connect it to a permanent drain, but for now I like the flexibility of moving it to different areas as needed. Both are used in bedrooms - one needed to have the portable as it is an egress for fire dept. Anyway, in the past the portable units I bought from LG as well as De'Longhi ALL had a coupler to snap into place. This helps to keep the hose where it needs to be. Your unit even has the tabs to snap said coupler into the unit. BUT there was not one provided. Am thinking Frigidaire forgot this as opposed to thinking it was not needed. The hose does not attach to that base and could easily come out. I hate to duct tape it as it will definitely leave sticky residue and frankly when I pay this much for a unit, I expect it will have all connectors included.
