This Spartan Helmet took my eye right away! Initially, I thought of both of my sons who love this period of time, but in the end, I kept it for myself! It is made well, but when you first take it out of the plastic wrap it does have an odor, maybe of paint. It looks like a mixture of bronze and black. The size looks comparable to a typical helmet. On its stand it appears to be about 16” high. The big decision is to whether have a frontal view or a side view, showing off the feathers of the helmet. Gerber isnt as well-known a brand as some others, but when I was shopping for fixtures for a full bathroom, it was carried by a local, highly-respected plumbing supply store, and I wound up choosing them for their design. Now that Im redoing the kitchen, I especially looked for their options. Im glad I did, because it looks great. Its a tad shorter than other similar options, which is a good thing for my application. The highlight of Paris in the Bella epoque era was the Grand Prix horse race at Longchamp. Afterward the fashionably dressed gathered for dinner at the Armenonville Pavilion, a sparkling restaurant on the shore of Bois de Boulogne, bringing together the many of the beautiful people and varied personalities and classes including the pictured notorious Spanish actress and dancer, La Bello Otero star of the Folies-Bergere. Gervex, sometimes considered an Impressionist, was also an academic and classically trained painter who favored larger works including wall panels. On one of his many travels, Gervex was commissioned to paint portraits of the Czar Nicholas II and the Russian royal family. The authentic stretched canvas replica painting captures the original work's texture, depth of color, and even its subtle brushstrokes, which are applied by hand.
