Bought this ceiling fan for my parents to replace an older ceiling fan that provided very little light. I primarily wanted to solve the lighting issue in a room that had dim areas that needed more light but still wanted a fan to move air. Their room only had one ceiling junction box to mount anything to so this seemed like a good solution to address both functions.
