I love this rug!!! It is very soft. You can feel it has layers of different textures when you walk on it which I like the feel of. The different textures give it a unique custom look too. Excellent rug for the price. These photos were taken about 24 hours after unrolling and laying it down. There is still a slightly noticeable place where it was folded down the middle, but I expect that to lay down over the next several days. No shedding, and the colors are as expected from the photo. I am not using a pad because my furniture keeps it in place. I may add one for comfort but its not a must have. I chose it as I wanted something lighter in color (its a north facing room) that wouldnt immediately show how much my dog sheds (shes light brown to white), and has an interesting pattern that goes with my home. We got this rug to replace our old LR rug. It took awhile to ship, but was well packaged upon delivery. The colors are vibrant and it laid flat almost immediately. Our last rug had to smooth out for awhile before it laid flat. Seems to be made out of high quality materials and feels good on your feet not scratchy.
