The steel supports are high quality. Installation was straightforward. One person with any DIY skills can install a single awning. If I were to install the four, again, I would get assistance. Functionally, the Aquila solved a rainwater runoff problem. Since rain gutters were insufficient, the Aquila awnings serve to guide the water off the roof and beyond the windows below. The clear smoke tint provides some protection from the sun, while maintaining our view from inside. Aesthetically, the Aquila system matches the look of our contemporary-modern house. Very pleased with the awning. Fits the space just right. Assembly was not overly difficult but the instructions could have been a bit more detailed. I looked at several videos related to assembly of the out sunning awnings and even though they were not for this exact awning it helped immensely. I was able to do the complete assembly by myself but needed help to lift the awning into place on the brackets. I mounted the brackets in the rim joist between the first and second floors... as such I needed to purchase some lag screws as the anchors provided with the awning were suited more to mounting on brick or concrete. Straightforward installation except there was no mounting schematic. The awning is 25” top to bottom plus a 6” skirt. I drew a 48” level line 25” from door top for the top rail. Top mounts were installed 6” from ends. Loosen the brackets but do not allow them to come apart. Place the rods into the awning pockets and install all rod hardware. Snap the top rod into the top brackets. This took me several tries. Center the awning. Tighten the top clamps. The last step is to mount the bottom brackets and attach the bottom side rails.
