Wanted to upgrade our over the stove microwave and found this LG one. I love the slide out vent option. It really does get rid of steam and oil smoke from the front burners. It will help when we change to a gas range and oven. Other reviews stated issues with the side out function. I see no issues with the durability. Just don’t lean on it or put things on it. Power is amazing and food cooks quickly and evenly. Some others disliked that the screen goes blank until you open the door. I don’t notice this as an issue. You have to open the door to put your food in first. The only time it requires opening is to use the timer function. We are very impressed with the look, features, quality and price. The other thing is the indicator bell when the oven reaches temperature is faint and it's not as obvious to read when the temperature is reached. But otherwise I love everything about it! The gas range is very powerful, the iron grill is sturdy and offers a flat top (no pot or pan wiggling!) for the entire range. This feature is helpful in a small kitchen with limited counter space. Other reviewers are correct when saying the temperature dial needs to be set above the needed temp to get a correct preheat. Remedy with a hanging oven thermometer. Do not, I repeat, Do not get the ‘GE Installation’ service with this appliance. Even if you buy an installation kit. The technician will come in, excuse in hand, and will tell you that any dust, or light green on the gas pipe disallows them to service the installation. (When plumbers test for gas leaks upon installation they spray a little water on the line, leading to a light green) Be ready with your own plumber on the day of delivery.
