These are definitely not matte, the texture is smooth and slippery (slightly concerned about using it for our shower floor). But the quality is fantastic, the backing seems sturdy and I havent seen any chips (havent gone through the whole order yet). I like that the edges are a sandy color, I think it will make it pop with a dark grout. Shipping was faster than initially expected. It was carefully packaged.
