We just had it installed yesterday. Recommend that you get a print out of the specifications and the installation. From what I was able to read in Wayfare’s description section, we would be able to install the unit flush with the ceiling. And unfortunately, because I didn’t have printed specifications we had to drop down the unit a foot from the ceiling. Not the inconspicuous flush mount unit and I was hoping for. According to my contractor, this was a very complicated unit to install. To be fair this is a relatively new category of range top hoods that are being offered. Pleased with the noise level, but have yet to cook with it. Read reviews from other previous purchasers, and a common statement was how small the remote controller was. These are definitely not matte, the texture is smooth and slippery (slightly concerned about using it for our shower floor). But the quality is fantastic, the backing seems sturdy and I havent seen any chips (havent gone through the whole order yet). I like that the edges are a sandy color, I think it will make it pop with a dark grout. Shipping was faster than initially expected. It was carefully packaged. So far so good. The installation was tough as the template supplied for the alignment of the screw holes on the back didn't really work. We had to modify the holes on the back.
